WHY the Global Paradox?

BECAUSE the conversation of a global solution starts in a paradox: if I choose to make a difference globally, I must start by changing within.

“Be the change that you wish to see in the world.”

Mahatma Gandhi

While this shift in perspective is surreal, it also clarifies the quest. I must understand my motivations to such degree that I have no questions and no need to provide answers. Such a depth of silence is the proverbial Peace that passes Understanding. It is what opens the active listening of compassion in me… Compassion is not sympathy. It is not even empathy. It is to be moved by such devotion that I am the pure action of true activism, as I do what it takes to heal a situation.

WHY One language; One speech?

BECAUSE realizing that there is order in the chaos as shown by “One Language” (a metalanguage) helps me turn within, to hear the small still voice. The more I tune in, the more I am of “One Speech” – authentic in my relating.

There’s nothing more satisfying – for both, speaker and listener – than to be of One speech, when we mean what we say and say what we feel! It is indeed very different than the suffering that follows words spoken by a divided tongue!

This disconnected experience is so universal that it is narrated in one of the two myths that can be found in across cultures: the story of a tower that comes crashing down. The crash powerfully follows the loss of “One language, One speech.” The episode is known in the Bible as the Tower of Babel. It is sourced in Sumer with hero Enmerkar who built a huge ziggurat, and implored god Enki to disrupt the linguistic unity of the lands.

“Come, let us go down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”

Genesis 11:7

The myth exposes the cancer of competition, when I compensate for my low self-esteem with a pride erection that towers over “you…”  I now really think that you’re the enemy, and that I must take you down! My ill-chosen rise into Power is due to fear for my own survival. Indeed, when my words are inauthentic, I am likely to be calculating for my own advantage.

This is how I confuse tongues and estrange me from love. Either my voice can’t be heard, or my words don’t make sense! Either way, I’m communicating fear, confusion and domination, consciously or not. The proposition of One language that would help me to connect to my heart, and thus to ALL life, seems almost too good to be true…

WHY One language Now?

BECAUSE the extent of the global problem is now urging us, individually and collectively, to step into an authentic form of leadership, and be the change. Also because, although we may have a sincere desire for a respectful dialog, it appears that we’re still missing the means to enable it.

If necessity is the mother of invention, then the head of the “One language” baby must be crowning, as I am bursting to end the confusion that I am in. I seem to be my own worst enemy, waging my own war, in the Name of my own religion, fighting “you” for the pettiest causes, just to be right!

If I could only…

♫ “Imagine there’s no countries; it isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for; And no religion too…”

Lyrics; Imagine, John Winston Lennon

Yes, you may say I’m a dreamer: deep down, we all are!

Context: a cross-cultural prophecy speaks of a golden age, when a unified Teaching (e.g.; the One language of a global cosmology) will create a paradigm shift, akin to a mass return to a mythical kingdom such as a “Shambhala” or a “Garden of Eden.”

No matter what I call this kingdom, it is an indigenous belief, that is, a belief that precedes any organized religions. The Jewish tradition names it Olam Habah or “the World-to-Come” as a messianic state where the awe of Heaven will be upon us, as opposed to Olam Hazeh for “This World” of fear, confusion and domination.

The age of information started making the impossible possible… Who would have believed even just 30 years ago that a text could travel as fast as the speed of light, and be sent and received in a nano-second on the other side of the world? And yet it is real, as real as One Language that had always been here, waiting for us to be open enough to sense it.

“And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech.”

Genesis 11:1

If I were to realize that the “Ten Commandments” are actually called the “10 Words” in the Bible, and these “words” refer to the first 10 Hebrew letters (each letter being a glyph, a number and a word), my 10 fingers may just join to do the beauty I love to do…
